Welcome to Wolf Orthopedic Development! I'm Bret Hartzell, the owner and consultant here at our biomedical company based in Canal Fulton, Ohio.
With over two decades of experience in the orthopedic industry, my journey has been both diverse and deeply enriching. I've had the privilege of working with various Orthopedic OEM companies, immersing myself in the complete product development process across multiple departments. From my beginnings as a Product Development Engineer to my role as Director of Product Development, I've honed my skills and expertise to bring innovative solutions to the orthopedic field.
As an Ohio native, I had the incredible opportunity to work at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, where I was responsible for transforming surgeon ideas into tangible, cutting-edge designs. Leading multiple system launches has given me a comprehensive understanding of the journey from concept to clearance. My experience in medical device manufacturing, particularly in forging and machining, has provided me with a balanced perspective on vendor relationships, cost reduction, and efficiency.
What truly drives me is the joy of working on design concepts and prototypes. I love mentoring and collaborating with new engineers, sharing the wealth of knowledge I've accumulated over the years. My holistic approach to orthopedic design often uncovers new, critical design inputs early in the process, streamlining development and boosting overall efficiency.
